- You can defeat parasites!
Vermox is widely in demand in the fight against various types of helminthiasis, as it is an effective broad-spectrum drug.
pharmachologic effect
It promotes the depletion of glycogen reserves in them, interferes with the synthesis of ATP and imbalances the consumption of glucose. In addition, under the action of vermox, β-tubulin synthesis is inhibited in the muscle cells of parasites, which causes paralysis of helminths.
Unlike some other anthelmintics, Vermox also has a detrimental effect on ascaris eggs and hookworms. An important advantage is the good tolerance of the drug and its rapid (within 24 hours) excretion from the patient's body.
Release form
The drug is available both in the form of tablets and in the form of a 2% suspension. White tablets of a flat-cylindrical shape are divided by a line, which is especially convenient when prescribing half a tablet.
Packing of tablets 6 pcs. in a cardboard box, there is also an instruction for use.

Composition
Both tablets and suspension contain mebendazole as the main active ingredient, as well as a number of auxiliary substances. One tablet and 5 ml of suspension contains 100 mg of mebendazole.
Indications for use
Treatment is indicated for various types of helminthiasis: enterobiasis, alveococcosis, gnatostomosis, ascariasis, capillariasis, ankylostomiasis, echinococcosis, strongyloidosis, teniasis, trichocephalosis, as well as with mixed helminthiasis.
This determines the therapy regimen, the dosage of the drug and the duration of the course of its administration, which should be prescribed only by a qualified parasitologist. It is recommended to take Vermox after meals with plenty of water.

Ascariasis is one of the most common parasitic diseases
Contraindications
It is categorically contraindicated to take Vermox as a prophylaxis for helminthiasis.
In addition, it is not recommended for use in the following cases:
- under the age of two;
- during pregnancy and breastfeeding;
- with impaired liver function (liver failure);
- with ulcerative colitis;
- with Crohn's disease;
- with increased sensitivity to certain ingredients of the drug.
Side effect
Like the vast majority of anthelmintic drugs, Vermox has some toxic effect on the body. Most often it manifests itself as abdominal pain, nausea and dizziness.
If a patient has an individual intolerance to mebendazole, then there may be disturbances in the functioning of the cardiovascular system (increased blood pressure, a feeling of tinnitus).
In rare cases, an allergic reaction may occur, manifested by a rash and itchy skin. Long-term use can affect liver function, and also requires constant monitoring of the state of the vascular system and kidneys, therefore, if necessary, complex long-term therapy is carried out in a hospital.
Analogs
The closest analogue is vormin with the same active ingredient. Pirantel is also popular.

Terms of dispensing from pharmacies
Currently, Vermox can be purchased freely in pharmacies, although until recently a doctor's prescription was required. Nevertheless, in no case should you self-medicate and choose the dosage and duration of admission yourself - this should only be done by a doctor, taking into account the type of helminthiasis.
