Pharmokinetics
Metronidazole is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. With the simultaneous intake of food, the rate of absorption of metronidazole into the blood decreases.
Penetrates into all tissues, organs, breast milk, through the placental barrier. It is metabolized in the liver and, during its normal functioning, decomposes within 8-12 hours. It is excreted by the kidneys up to 80%, the remaining 20% are excreted unchanged.

Indications
Trichopolum therapy is carried out only if microbiological studies have confirmed the presence of metronidazole-sensitive strains.
Indications for use
- With obvious clinical manifestations of trichomoniasis in men or women (The diagnosis is confirmed by laboratory tests of a smear or culture).
- If there is no clear picture of the disease (with cervicitis, endocervicitis, cervical erosion), it is recommended to start treatment with Trichopolum. Trichomonas distort the accurate assessment of cytological smears, therefore, after the therapy, additional smears should be submitted for verification.
