Roundworms (nematodes)

pharmachologic effect

The pharmacological action is based on the effect on ganglion-like formations of worms. Due to depolarizing neuromuscular paralysis of the muscle membrane in helminths, as well as blocking and inhibition of vital enzymes in their body, bioenergetic processes are disrupted, which leads to paralysis of worms.

Composition

The main active ingredient is levamisole hydrochloride; in addition, it contains auxiliary substances in the form of corn starch, talc, sodium saccharinate, apricot flavor, yellow dye, etc.

Indications for use

Indications for use are helminthiases caused by roundworms (nematodes): enterobiasis, ascariasis, non-katorosis, strongyloidosis, ankylostomiasis, trichocephalosis, trichostrongyloidosis, and toxoplasmosis. Often, a second course is prescribed after one to two weeks.

The dosage should only be determined by a physician. Since the drug is also used to treat children, this is especially important, since the dosage depends on the age and weight of the child, the intensity of helminthic invasion and other factors.

The advantage of decaris is that, unlike many other anthelmintic drugs, it does not require a preparatory period, adherence to a special diet and laxatives. Perhaps the only limitation is the ban on alcohol consumption, however, only one day: when taking decaris and a day after it.

The appointment during pregnancy should be carried out very carefully so as not to harm the fetus, and during lactation, you will have to give up breastfeeding.
