  • sodium methylparaben;
  • magnesium stearate;
  • povidone powder;
  • purified talc.

The Nemocid suspension is also based on the pyrantel lamoate, but other components are partially different. Here is the list of components:

  • sodium carboxymethyl cellulose;
  • sodium propylparaben;
  • sodium methylparaben;
  • sodium chloride;
  • sorbitic acid;
  • polysorbate 80,
  • essence with a certain smell;
  • sucrose;
  • high purity water.

The bottle with the contents is placed in a cardboard box.

pharmachologic effect

Antihelminthic medication with a wide spectrum of action. In helminths sensitive to this active substance, in connection with the work of the drug, paralysis of the neuromuscular systems of the helminths is observed, after which they are excreted. Effective against parasites: Enterobius vermicularis, Ancylostoma doudenale, Necator americanus, Ascaris lumbriocoides, Trichostrongylus colubriformis, Trichostrongylus orientalis. It has a proper effect in the sexually mature and immature stages of development of helminths. The medicine has no effect on worms in the larval stage.

After entering the human body, a low degree of absorption of Nemocide from the digestive system is noted. With a single dose of 10 milligrams per 1 kilogram of body weight, the amount of active substance in the blood is up to 0.13 micrograms for 1 to 3 hours.

There is no information on how the compounds of the active ingredient are distributed in solid and liquid tissues of a person, as well as its penetration into human milk. With the active substance that has entered the circulatory system, metabolism occurs to some extent in the liver tissues. Half of the amount of pyrantel lamoate comes out unchanged with feces, doctors find up to 7% in urine.

When is it used?

We have already mentioned the types of helminths that are susceptible to the effects of Nemocid. Now we will consider the diseases that can be got rid of with this medicine:

  • enterobiasis (caused by pinworms);
  • trichocephalosis (causative agent - moisture heads);
  • ascariasis (roundworm);
  • ankylostomiasis (hookworms);
  • noncatorosis (noncatoris).

Roundworms (nematodes) easily block the neuromuscular system, they have real estate. As a result, they detach from the mucous membrane of the intestinal tract, and roundworms cannot move upward inside the intestine (they never stick to its walls). Paralyzed nematodes come out during bowel movements.

Vlasoglavs are less sensitive to the action of this active ingredient. Therefore, for the treatment of trichocephalosis, it is more advisable to drink a medication with mebendazole as an active ingredient. These are drugs such as Vermox and Wormin.

Dosage and method of administration

The amount of medication is determined by the attending physician, it is calculated based on the patient's body weight, as well as the severity of the disease. For adults and children over 12 years old, the tablet form of Nemocide is used.

Here is the dosage for various helminthic invasions:

  1. Enterobiasis and ascariasis should be treated with a medicine in the amount of 10-12 milligrams per 1 kilogram of a person's weight. If an adult weighs less than 75 kilograms, then he will need 750 milligrams one-time, and patients with a body weight greater than this value - 1000 milligrams. In addition to taking the medication for enterobiasis, you need to scrupulously perform all hygiene procedures and repeat the treatment again after 21 days.
  2. Ankylostomiasis (in severe degree) requires the appointment of 20 milligrams of medication per kilogram of weight for 1-2 doses for 2-3 days. People weighing up to 75 kilograms drink 1500 milligrams at a time, and patients weighing more need 2000 milligrams. Uncomplicated disease requires 2 times less medicine.

These anthelmintic tablets must be chewed well. Treatment with Nemocid does not require any preparation for admission: the use of laxatives or abstinence from food. They drink the drug at a convenient time.

Reception of Nemocid in suspension should be carried out in the following doses:

  • babies from six months to 2 years old - 125 milligrams;
  • children 2-6 years old - 250 milligrams;
  • schoolchildren 6-12 years old - 500 milligrams;
  • adolescents and adults who have a body weight of up to 75 kilograms - 750 milligrams;
  • adults weighing more than 75 kilograms - 1000 milligrams.

In order to drink the suspension, it is initially shaken, since when taking the tablets, it is not necessary to prepare for treatment with the liquid form of the drug.

Side effects and contraindications

In most cases, the active ingredient (pyrantel lamoat) is well tolerated by patients, since absorption into the human body is insignificant. But sometimes there are cases of side effects.

These are phenomena such as:

  1. Disturbances in the work of the central nervous system. These include drowsiness, discomfort in the skull, dizziness, the presence of hallucinations, insomnia, paresthesia.
  2. Skin problems. These are rashes and hives, itching.
  3. Dysfunction of the gastrointestinal tract: the presence of nausea and vomiting, abdominal cramps, diarrhea, poor appetite, tenesmus, excessive activity of hepatic isoenzymes.
  4. Others: impotence, increased body temperature.

Refuse treatment with Nemocid in case of individual intolerance to the drug in general or to the active substance in particular. Also, its reception is not desirable with reduced liver function.

Nursing mothers should also not take this drug, as it has good absorption into milk. If there is an urgent need for a woman to be treated for worms, then breastfeeding is stopped for 3 days

Overdose, in the case of using the drug Nemocid, is quite rare in patients. But if more of it was drunk than it should be, then there may be a violation of coordination of movements, diarrhea, vomiting, anorexia. Symptoms of poisoning, even if the dose is increased, are rare.

As with ordinary intoxication, it is necessary to flush the stomach and take any sorbent. Additional therapy will be selected according to the health condition. In case of overdose with Nemocid, the respiratory system and heart may be in danger.

Application features

If you are treated with Nemocide, you cannot combine it with other antihelminthic drugs - Piperazine and Levamisole. When each is combined with an active substance (pyrantel), the theophylline level in the bloodstream may increase. This phenomenon is often characterized by diarrhea and nausea, it excites the human central nervous system, accelerates the heartbeat.

During pregnancy

The action of any drugs during the development of a child in the womb is alarming. Therefore, Nemocid is taken if the benefits of treatment are greater than the risk to the baby. But doctors usually look for another method to cure a worm infestation in a pregnant woman.

For kids

For the first six months, babies cannot be treated with Nemocide. The reason is insufficient study of the effect of the drug on newborns. Children's age, from which treatment for helminths is possible, is 6 months. Such small patients, and until they reach 3 years old, are given a suspension. Older children, after three years of age, are already able to take the tablet form of Nemocid.

Existing analogues

This medicine has substitutes, both in terms of the active ingredient and the effect on nematodes. If Nemocide is not available in the pharmacy, then people purchase another medicine with the presence of pyrantel in the composition. These are such drugs:

  1. Pirantel. This name belongs to a whole group of drugs. They are manufactured by a variety of pharmaceutical companies: Indian, Polish, and Russian.
  2. Pirantela lamoat.
  3. Helmintox.

With a similar effect on round worms (nematodes), there are drugs with the following names of active ingredients:

  • pyrvinia embonat - Pirvinium;
  • carbendacim - Medamin;
  • albendazole - Sanoxal, Aldazol, Vormil, Gelmadol, Nemazol, Zentel;
  • thiabendazole - Mintezol, Arbotekt, Tetusim;
  • mebendazole - Vermox;
  • piperazine adipate - piperazine, piperazine adipate;
  • ivermectin - Ivermectin, Solantra.

It is known that any chemical agent has a negative effect on the human body. Side effects are from bouts of vomiting, headaches and diarrhea (when taking mebendazole), to disorders of the visual organs (from ivermectin).

They make antihelminthic teas, solutions and extracts in liquid form. Naturally, a course of treatment with natural ingredients lasts longer than with chemical medications, but it will have many advantages:

  1. There are no undesirable side effects, as well as contraindications.
  2. With a large list of plants that make up the collection, this medicine has a universal effect. This product may contain the following herbs: oak bark and birch leaves, chamomile and clary sage, common tansy and wormwood, agrimony and sumac, marigold and mint, asafedita.
  3. Prevents self-infection with parasites due to the presence of bear in the bile. This tool is able to break down helminth eggs.

The indisputable advantage of the destruction of parasites with the help of folk methods is the relative absence of a harmful effect on the liver of the person being treated. Nemocid has good efficacy against roundworms, but if there is a need to replace it with another preparation or collection of medicinal plants, then this is possible. This medication compares favorably with its chemical counterparts in cost. But in order to avoid undesirable consequences for one's own or children's health, the attending physician should prescribe a drug for antihelminthic therapy.
