  • Necator americanus (non-katorosis);
  • whipworm (trichocephalosis);
  • hookworm (hookworm).

The drug destroys individuals that have reached puberty, but does not harm the larvae and eggs of parasites, therefore, after a course of therapy, it is recommended to carry out treatment again, after 2-3 weeks.

Method of administration and dosage

The dosage is usually prescribed by a specialist; also, you can focus on the information specified in the instructions. Taking the drug in tablet form and the dosage depends on the age of the patient and the type of disease:

For the treatment of enterobiasis and ascariasis:

  1. adults and children from 12 years old are recommended to take the drug once - 3 tablets at once;
  2. for children under 12 years of age, the dose is calculated on the basis of weight - 10 mg of active ingredient per kg of body weight.

  • For the treatment of necatorosis - 20 mg of the drug per 1 kg of body weight, the drug is taken once a day for 2 days;
  • In severe form of necatorosis - the daily dose is 20 mg per 1 kg, treatment lasts 2 days.

The tablets are recommended to be taken during a meal or after it is over; the drug is best chewed thoroughly.

The dosage of the suspension is also associated with the weight of children - 125 mg (2.5 ml of the drug) of pyrantel goes to 10 kg of weight. The drug in this form can be given to children from six months.

It is not recommended to take Nemocid and analogues containing pyrantel as an active ingredient in the following cases:

  • with pathological disorders of the liver;
  • if the patient has hypersensitivity to the active or auxiliary components of the drug;
  • during pregnancy.

If treatment of helminthiasis is required during lactation, Nemocid can be taken, but only if the child stops feeding for 3 days. After this period, you can return to breastfeeding.

Nemocide should not be given to children under six months of age.

Side effects

This anthelmintic drug is considered gentle, but it can also cause the following side effects:

  • allergies: exanthema, urticaria, pruritus, rash;
  • malfunctions of the organs of the gastrointestinal tract: anorexia, nausea, vomiting, increased activity of hepatic transaminases, diarrhea, stomach pain;
  • disturbances in the work of the central nervous system - lethargy, loss of strength, drowsiness, sleep disorder, sensitivity, migraine pains, dizziness, hallucinations, confusion, hearing impairment.

Experts note that the more intense the helminthic invasion, the stronger these symptoms.

Nemocid has a low adsorption property, therefore, when even a large dose is taken, there is practically no intoxication effect on the body.

Structural analogs of Nemocid are anthelmintic drugs, the active ingredient of which is pyrantel: "Helmintox", "Pirantel".

Popular substitutes for "Nemocide" are products containing another active ingredient - albendazole. They are not considered analogs, but they have a similar antihelminthic effect and most often Nemocide is replaced with Nemozole. The advantages of the latter drug are that it is effective not only against adult worms, but also against their eggs and larvae. However, its medicinal substances are poorly absorbed when taken orally, therefore, it is recommended to take the drug at the same time as eating fatty foods.

Nemocide is a more gentle drug: it has fewer contraindications, rarely causes side effects and is indicated for the treatment of children.

The average price of Nemozol tablets is about 160 rubles, suspension - 230 rubles, while Nemozide - only 40 rubles, regardless of the form of release.
