From the moment of birth, the human intestine is absolutely sterile. From the first breath, various microorganisms from the air enter the body. Rod-shaped bacteria exist for a long period, they are activated around a person, on the skin and inside the body.

They got their name because of the shape, most of the cells are in the form of rods. All processes of substances in nature are closely related to the activity of microbes: fermentation, decay, mineralization.

In the human body, many processes occur precisely thanks to them, without the participation of microbes, it is impossible to digest food, with their help, diseases also develop. In the course of its development, bacteria changed their cellular composition, but the original forms are still intact.

The most common today is the bacillus. It forms ineradicable spores, and also has a gram-positive cell wall. One of the main functions of such bacteria is the destruction of dead organic matter, its transformation into inorganic substances.

In the process of vital activity, the bacilli may not use oxygen, but it is not harmful to them. Vital activity occurs through various chemical reactions. Rod-shaped forms are highly mobile, moving through special flagella.

Rod-shaped bacteria multiply through division. Thanks to spores inside microscopic pests, they can adapt to different conditions. Microbes inside the human body can be located singly, in pairs, or even in chains. Their presence is determined by the method of microscopy.

Varieties of microorganisms

The cells of each bacterium are similar, have a similar structure. The main constituent is defined by the capsule, or outer shell. Capsule mucus protects the microorganism from external manifestations and drying out, and also stores reserve materials.

The cell wall has a supporting function, it also performs the transport of substances. The cytoplasm is responsible for the distribution of the necessary substances, the nucleotide is determined by the genetic custodian.

Flagella provide rapid movement, but some types of microbes lack them. Rod-shaped bacteria have the ability to change under the influence of the environment.

Globular microorganisms are called by another name - cocci. After the division process, the forms of bacteria are different, depending on them, a classification is created.

Micrococci are characterized by a single arrangement, diplococci, due to the process of division in one plane, are arranged in pairs. A type of microbe called streptococcus is located in chains, while after dividing it is not detached from each other.

Staphylococci as forms of bacteria are whole clusters, their division is carried out in different planes. Tetracocci form clusters of 4 cells. All types of cocci can be called differently, they do not have the ability to form spores and are immobile.

Coiled bacteria include types such as: spirochetes, spirillae and vibrios. Infection with vibrios occurs mainly through water, they are cholera provocateurs and have a form that vaguely resembles a comma.

Spirilla's wand is not dangerous to humans, it has a twisted shape with one or more rings. The habitats of such sticks are often bodies of water and sewage. Spirochetes are determined by the causative agents of genital infections, they pose a considerable threat to the body.

Filamentous types of harmful bacteria are multicellular compounds that consist of several rod-shaped cells under a common sheath. The largest microbes are visible without a microscope and can grow up to 1 cm in size.

Examples of their habitats are mainly limited to water bodies, they do not pose a danger to the protective function of the human body.

Ways of infection with harmful bacteria

Almost all types of microbes can be transmitted by airborne droplets and by household means. They can provoke very dangerous diseases, so there is a need for routine tests and visits to a specialist for their timely detection.

Gram-positive compounds are active in the upper respiratory tract and on the skin. They can be in the air, dwell on various items for hygiene, clothing, bedding and furniture. The drying process against the rod-shaped microorganism does not work.

Gram-negative microbes for the conduct of active life choose the intestines, the mucous membrane of the respiratory or biliary tract. The main sources of infection can be damp things, dishwashing sponges, breathing apparatus, medicinal and disinfectant solutions in low concentration. Such bacteria die when dried.

Due to their optimal shape, harmful protozoa have the ability not only to move, but also to defend themselves and escape from danger. They are highly resistant to humidity, cold or high temperatures.

Air is not a permanent habitat for bacteria, they are most often transmitted by air from the soil or through a sick person or animal. They can cause diseases such as influenza, measles, whooping cough, chickenpox, tuberculosis, etc.

What is the danger

The human body has the most favorable atmosphere for the development of harmful microbes. Being inside a person, bacteria have the property of rapid reproduction; they can infect many internal organs and cause a lot of inconvenience.

Some rod-shaped ones can release the strongest toxic substances that can be dangerous not only for health, but also for life in general. Immunity, defeated by harmful bacteria, begins to weaken quickly and a person becomes vulnerable to various diseases.

If a woman's vaginal bacterial balance is disturbed, various infections may occur. Harmful microbes are able to stay in the body for a long period, while sucking out useful elements.

The most common sources of harmful bacteria include:

  1. Kitchen sink, dishwashing sponges, cutting board surfaces;
  2. Bathroom surfaces;
  3. Playgrounds, sandboxes, toys in institutions for children;
  4. Office and public premises;
  5. Banknotes.

Preventive measures

It is necessary to learn how to identify the source of infection in time and isolate it. You should also not forget about disinfection measures. Everyone has the opportunity to protect themselves and their loved ones from a bacterial attack.

To do this, you just need to follow some rules:

  1. You must observe your own hygiene standards;
  2. Use special detergents for cleaning the room, use antibacterial soap for washing hands;
  3. The most durable barrier to the penetration of bacteria creates a strong immunity, therefore, tempering, taking vitamins and rational nutrition will become indispensable helpers;
  4. The work or living space must be ventilated as often as possible;
  5. Expired or improperly stored foods should be thrown away immediately;
  6. Milk purchased on the market must be boiled well;
  7. All products used for food should be subjected to intense heat treatment;
  8. All care products must be purely individual;
  9. You should undergo a routine examination by medical specialists, carry out tests.

By observing these elementary norms, you can save yourself from many health problems. For a person with strong immunity, a variety of bacteria are the least dangerous.
