When drawing up a special diet for a child for the duration of treatment, it is necessary to take into account the peculiarities of lamblia - all sweets should be excluded from the menu, including sweet tea and cocoa. And during the treatment period, all sweet fruits are prohibited - melon, grapes, bananas, and dried fruits - raisins, dried apricots, dates, prunes. Fresh bread is contraindicated - both white and black. From flour you can eat biscuits and crackers.
Slow carbohydrates, on the other hand, must be present in the menu - these are cereals cooked in water: oatmeal, buckwheat, rice, wheat, corn.
Sour drinks are recommended before each meal - fruit drinks and compotes from sour berries and fruits. You can give sour plums, all citrus fruits, cherries, kiwi, sour apples.
Fatty and spicy, fried foods that irritate the intestinal mucosa should be completely excluded from the diet, raw onions and garlic are contraindicated. Stewed, boiled, and steamed dishes are shown.
Protein foods are useful: low-fat fish, turkey, veal. Sausage and smoked meats are prohibited.
A prerequisite for the diet during the treatment of giardiasis is the inclusion in the diet of fermented milk products - biokefir, low-fat cottage cheese, as they normalize the intestinal microflora. Whole milk is contraindicated - it provokes a fermentation process in the intestines.
During treatment, you need to eat often and fractionally, chop or wipe the food. During the entire course of treatment, the child should drink a lot of plain pure water or weak unsweetened tea. Juices, sugary and carbonated drinks are excluded.
After treating the child with medications and traditional medicine, which act as an addition to the treatment with traditional methods, in order to avoid re-infection with lamblia, it is necessary to monitor the child's hygiene.
