Opisthorchiasis - treatment with garlic. Opisthorchiasis is a parasitic disease that is quite common in humans. As a rule, sick people complain of a deterioration in health, allergic reactions, pain in the liver and stomach, and a decrease in blood pressure. Timely diagnosis and treatment of the disease can prevent the development of severe chronic diseases, for example, cirrhosis of the liver or chronic pancreatitis. Treatment of opisthorchiasis with garlic is a well-known method of traditional medicine, about which many people respond positively.
Opisthorchiasis - treatment with garlic. There is no need to wait long for the appearance of symptoms of opisthorchiasis - they will make themselves felt soon after infection with parasites, which occurs when eating fish that has not undergone sufficient heat treatment. So the Siberian or cat fluke invades the body, it is a hepatic fluke - the causative agent of opisthorchiasis in humans. Further, the pancreas and hepatobiliary system will become habitats of this parasite. The invasion is fraught with danger in the form of health complications, therefore, its timely detection and treatment is required.

What is opisthorchiasis
Opisthorchiasis is a parasitic disease provoked by flatworms from the fluke class. The invasion is accompanied by damage to the hepatopancreatobiliary system with an increase in body temperature, skin rashes, abdominal pain and jaundice.

Opisthorchiasis is a very relevant disease for Russia. There are endemic areas in the country where this helminthiasis occurs very often. Opisthorchiasis is widespread among the population living near the basins of the Volga, Irtysh, Ob and Kama rivers.
Helminths are small in size, no more than 2 mm in width and no more than 10 mm in length. Therefore, they can inhabit the intrahepatic and extrahepatic bile ducts, as well as in the pancreatic ducts.
A person becomes infected after eating raw, dried, salted, smoked or poorly processed fish. A month after the invasion, the helminth turns into a sexually mature individual and begins to reproduce eggs.
There opisthorchiasis is the most common helminthiasis in the general structure of parasitic invasions. Although there are about 30 species of opisthorchis in nature, only three types of parasites can live in the human body, including: Opisthorchis felineus, Opisthorchis viverrini and Opisthorchis felineus arvicola.
Opisthorchiasis is a natural focal disease, in natural conditions, infection is maintained by the circulation of parasites among wild animals that feed on fish. The worm has two intermediate hosts: freshwater mollusks of the bitiniida family (first host) and fish (second host).
The structure of opisthorchiasis

An adult opisthorchis is a flat, small fluke, the length of which ranges from 8 to 18 mm and the width is 1.2 to 2 mm. It has a lanceolate body shape with a pointed front end. It has two suction cups for fixing on smooth surfaces: oral and abdominal.
The abdominal sucker is located in the middle of the body, the oral sucker is at the head end. From the oral sucker originate the pharynx and the esophagus, from which the intestines begin. The excretory canal is located at the posterior end of the parasite.
Opisthorchis is a hermaphrodite because it has both male and female genitals. The female organs are represented by the uterus and vitellines, which are located in the middle part of the body. Male organs - two testes and a seminal receptacle, which is located in the back third of the body. The genital opening is located in front of the abdominal sucker.
In the host's body, the parasite does not multiply, but accumulates with raw or poorly heat-treated fish eaten. However, he lays eggs - up to 900 pieces per day. The shape of the eggs resembles a cucumber seed. The eggs are small, pale yellow in color. To mature, they must go a long way - the life cycle.
They contain a larva (miracidium) inside, which retains viability in river water for up to one year, in swamp water - 36-40 hours, in air or in soil - up to 7-10 days. Eggs are excreted into the external environment from the body through the gastrointestinal tract with feces. Immature eggs of the parasite are not contagious.
Signs of opisthorchiasis in adults and children
Opisthorchiasis - treatment with garlic. Once in the human body, flukes are freed from the protective membranes and migrate from the intestine to the liver.
In addition, the massive accumulation of worms and their eggs interferes with the normal flow of bile, disrupts the enzymatic function of organs, and creates favorable conditions for the development of concomitant inflammation. That is why purulent cholangitis is often a sign of opisthorchiasis.
The incubation period of the disease is from 2 to 4 weeks, on average - 21 days. At an early stage, the symptoms of human opisthorchiasis are: fever (usually slight: up to 37.5ºC); decrease in general tone: weakness, lethargy. The manifestations of opisthorchiasis depend on which system is most damaged, as well as on the number of flukes.
The symptoms of the disease also include: liver disease up to cirrhosis; development of pancreatitis; epileptic seizures; general allergic reactions of the whole body; manifestations from the cardiovascular system are not uncommon: unpleasant sensations appear in the region of the heart, blood pressure decreases.
For a moderate to severe course (for example, with a mass invasion) of the nature, more pronounced symptoms: fever; headache; nervous excitability up to aggressiveness; persistent pain in the right hypochondrium; nausea and vomiting. In addition, with severe opisthorchiasis, symptoms appear on the skin: allergic rashes like urticaria.

The pathogenic effect of the parasite consists of two factors: mechanical (with suckers and thorns, worms affect the liver tissue and bile ducts) and toxic (in the course of their vital activity, fluke releases a large amount of toxins into the blood, which, gradually accumulating, cause poisoning of the body).
Patients often complain of decreased appetite, bitter taste in the mouth. Symptoms of opisthorchiasis in children are more pronounced if the child is infected in early childhood, he does not know how to cry, but grows irritable. Very often, opisthorchiasis in children causes mental retardation.
Opisthorchiasis - treatment with garlic. Gradually, the disease becomes chronic. At the same time, chronic opisthorchiasis can be almost asymptomatic for a long time, until the lesions of the liver and gallbladder become extensive. Opisthorchiasis disrupts metabolism, affects the hematopoietic function, provokes the development of gallbladder cancer and liver cirrhosis.
Diagnostics of the opisthorchiasis
Diagnosis of opisthorchiasis is difficult in the early period of the disease, since, on average, up to six weeks pass from the moment the clinical manifestations of the disease appear to the release of the eggs of the parasite in the feces.
Diagnosis of opisthorchiasis is based on the study of the epidemiological history (consumption of raw or poorly salted fish) and the clinical picture of the disease. To confirm the diagnosis of opisthorchiasis, serum samples are used - the reaction of indirect hemagglutination, which in 80% of cases allows detecting opisthorchiasis.
In chronic forms of opisthorchiasis, the complex of diagnostic studies includes ultrasound examination of the hepatobiliary system, computed tomography of the liver, X-ray examination of the biliary tract.
To diagnose the chronic form of opisthorchiasis, a study of duodenal contents or feces is used to detect the eggs of the pathogen. The collection of duodenal contents in opisthorchiasis is carried out using duodenal intubation.
Opisthorchiasis - treatment with garlic. An important condition for the diagnosis of opisthorchiasis is the collection and examination of three portions of the duodenal contents. The analysis of feces for opisthorchiasis is recommended to be carried out three times, with an interval of several days. This is due to the fact that it is not always possible to immediately detect the eggs of the pathogen.

A more modern diagnostic study used to diagnose opisthorchiasis is the detection of worm DNA using polymerase chain reaction. The method can be used in both children and adults. Stool and duodenal contents serve as the material for the study.
In the general analysis of blood with opisthorchiasis, even before the onset of its clinical manifestations, an increased content of eosinophils is often found, and with the addition of an inflammatory process, leukocytosis can be observed.
In chronic forms of opisthorchiasis, the complex of diagnostic studies includes ultrasound examination of the hepatobiliary system, computed tomography of the liver, X-ray examination of the biliary tract.
Opisthorchiasis treatment
Opisthorchiasis - treatment with garlic. Treatment of opisthorchiasis should begin as early as possible, as this will prevent its complications. A parasitologist should treat opisthorchiasis. An important component of the treatment of opisthorchiasis is a therapeutic diet. The diet for opisthorchiasis should satisfy the body's needs for the basic nutritional components - proteins, fats, carbohydrates and vitamins.
They use a diet that is gentle on the digestive organs and excludes the use of fatty, fried, smoked foods and products that stimulate the secretion of the pancreas and stomach - meat and fish broths, spices, sauces.
The diet is selected by a doctor and includes light vegetable soups without frying, crumbly cereals, boiled meat and fish, low-fat dairy products. Drug treatment should include the use of anthelmintic drugs, restoration of disturbed functions of the gastrointestinal tract, symptomatic treatment.
In the acute period of opisthorchiasis, treatment begins with the elimination of intoxication and manifestations of allergies. In order to relieve the manifestations of intoxication, infusion solutions are used in treatment, enterosorbents are used. For the treatment of allergic manifestations, antihistamines are used.
Anthelmintic drugs for the treatment of opisthorchiasis, their doses and duration of administration are selected by the doctor. To improve the outflow of bile, choleretic drugs are prescribed. Treatment of mild forms of opisthorchiasis in adults, as a rule, is carried out at home under the constant supervision of a doctor.

Of the anthelmintic drugs in the treatment of opisthorchiasis, albendazole (Zentel, Vormil), Chloxil, Praziquantel (Biltricid, Azinox) are used. Praziquantel is a toxic drug with many side effects, therefore it is used mainly for the treatment of opisthorchiasis in adults.
In the acute form of opisthorchiasis, in the case of opisthorchiasis in children, as well as in the presence of severe liver and pancreatic disorders, treatment at home is contraindicated. In this case, hospitalization of patients in a hospital is indicated.
Treatment of opisthorchiasis with folk remedies at home
Treatment of opisthorchiasis with folk remedies at home is possible, however, you should definitely consult a doctor. Some prescriptions for the treatment of opisthorchiasis:
You will need 1 drop of birch tar, which is dissolved in a tablespoon of boiled water. On the first day, you need to drink 1 spoon of the product, on the second day, dissolve 2 drops of tar in a spoon, on the third day - 6 drops of tar, on the fourth day - 8 drops, and on the fifth day - 10 drops. As a rule, a five-day course is enough to get rid of opisthorchiasis.
Beet juice is able to cleanse the liver and cure worms. Additionally, you can use other components by making a tincture. Alcohol, garlic, Cholosas (choleretic drug) are added and infused for 2-3 days. You need to drink before meals for 2 weeks.
If the disease is in an acute stage, when the patient has vomiting and fever, then burdock juice can come to the rescue.
Fresh leaves are crushed with a meat grinder, then juice is squeezed out of them and taken 3 times a day half an hour before meals. The amount of juice per dose is 30 ml. The course of treatment is from a week to 10 days. You can repeat the course several times a year, if necessary.
Pumpkin seeds are another effective remedy for opisthorchiasis. To do this, grind a glass of grains in a meat grinder, add 2 egg yolks, a spoonful of honey and a glass of water (200 ml) to it. This mixture should be eaten in the morning on an empty stomach. Then the person goes to bed and applies heat to the right side (a heating pad with hot water).

It is necessary to stay in bed for several hours. By the evening, the body temperature should return to normal, and the pain will decrease, as the parasites will die. This treatment must be repeated twice with an interval of 10 days.
A decoction based on aspen bark is able to relieve inflammation, have antimicrobial and diuretic effects, and normalize the functioning of the digestive organs. It is necessary to take 30 g of dry raw materials and pour half a liter of boiling water. Leave to infuse for the whole day. You need to drink three times a day before meals for three weeks.
Pumpkin seeds are used in folk medicine to combat opisthorchiasis and in products that are more reminiscent of culinary dishes.
Boil millet porridge in water. Pass the deboned herring through a meat grinder. Repeat the process adding pumpkin seeds. Stir in porridge until smooth. Eat on an empty stomach in the morning. After two hours, take a laxative or enema. Repeat three times at weekly intervals.

Mix a glass of ground pumpkin seeds with two yolks, a tablespoon of honey and a little water. Take on an empty stomach 30 minutes before breakfast. After it, you need to lie down for two hours, preferably with a hot heating pad. The procedure should take place every morning for ten days. With weekly breaks, the course is repeated twice more.
Triple cologne: the advice to treat opisthorchiasis with triple cologne (or alcohol, which is less effective), taking a tablespoon on an empty stomach, can be treated in different ways. Some doctors even recommend - unofficially, of course. Others categorically prohibit: you can radically "plant" the liver and kidneys.

Prevention of opisthorchiasis
Prevention of infection with opisthorchiasis comes down to the correct preparation of fish. A sick person, along with cats and dogs, is the main source of the parasite's eggs in the external environment. The disease can be severe, with serious health consequences.
Therefore, the following requirements must be met:
- purchased or caught river fish must be thoroughly heat treated - cut large carcasses into pieces of about 100 g each, be sure to cook or stew with water under a lid for at least 20 minutes from the moment of boiling. It is forbidden to taste semi-finished fish products;
- bake pies with fish for at least one hour;
- smoking is allowed only using hot technology - not less than 2 hours at 80 degrees;
- the ambassador should be carried out for at least 14 days at the rate of 2 kg of table salt per 10 kg of fish, preferably in small batches;
- freezing ensures safety if carried out for at least 2 weeks at temperatures below minus 15 degrees Celsius;
- it is forbidden to feed pets with raw river fish;
- for cutting fresh fish, use individual boards, then the knife must be washed with soap and boiled water.
