Active ingredients: 1 tablet contains albendazole 400 mg;
- corn starch,
- sodium lauryl sulfate,
- methylparaben (E 218),
- propylparaben (E 216),
- colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide,
- sodium starch glycolate,
- magnesium stearate;
- mixture for film coating Opadry II White (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, titanium dioxide (E 171), lactose monohydrate, polyethylene glycol, triacetin).
Aldazol is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic agent; also has activity against pathogenic protozoa. Acts on intestinal and tissue forms of parasites; active against eggs, larvae and adult helminths.
The mechanism of action is due to the selective suppression of beta-tubulin polymerization, destruction of cytoplasmic microtubules of cells of the intestinal tract of helminths; suppression of glucose utilization, blocking the movement of secretory granules and other organelles in the muscle cells of roundworms, which causes their death.
The active ingredient of the drug is active:
against intestinal parasites, including nematodes - Ascaris lumbricoides, Trihiurus trihiura, Enterobius vermicularis, Ancylostoma duodenale, Necator americanus, Strongiloides stercoralis, Cutaneous Larva Migrans; cestodes - Hymenolepsis papa (dwarf tapeworm), Taenia solium (pork tapeworm), Taenia saginata (bovine tapeworm); trematodes - Opisthorhis viverrini, Clonorchis sinensis; protozoa - Giardia lamblia (intestinalis and duodenalis)
- against tissue parasites, including cystic echinococcosis (Echinococcus granulosus) and alveolar echinococcosis (Echinococcus multilocularis). The drug destroys cysts or significantly reduces their size in patients with granular echinococcosis. With cysts caused by Echinococcus multilocularis, the majority of patients experience an improvement or stabilization of the disease, and some have a complete cure.
- in the treatment of neurocysticercosis caused by the invasion of larvae of Taenia solium (pork tapeworm), capillariasis caused by Capillaria philippinensis.
Albendazole is poorly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract (less than 5%); unchanged in blood plasma is not found. Oral bioavailability is low (about 30%). The simultaneous intake of fatty foods approximately 5 times increases the absorption of albendazole.
It is rapidly metabolized in the liver during the "first pass". The primary metabolite, albendazole sulfoxide, has half the pharmacological activity of the parent substance.
The maximum concentration of albendazole sulfoxide in the blood is reached 2 to 5 hours after application; connection with plasma proteins - 70%. Albendazole sulfoxide is almost completely distributed in the body; found in urine, bile, liver, in the wall of the cyst and cystic fluid, cerebrospinal fluid.
Albendazole sulfoxide in the liver is metabolized to albendazole sulfone (a secondary metabolite) and other oxidized products devoid of pharmacological activity. The half-life of albendazole sulfoxide is 8-12 hours. It is excreted in the form of various metabolites mainly by the kidneys, as well as with bile.
After prolonged use of the drug in high doses, its elimination from cysts continues for several weeks.
In case of impaired renal function, the total clearance of albendazole and its main metabolite does not change.
When liver function is impaired, the bioavailability of albendazole increases; the maximum concentration of albendazole sulfoxide in the blood doubles, and its half-life is lengthened.
Indications and dosage
Aldazole is used for the following diseases: enterobiasis, ascariasis, necatorosis, ankylostomiasis, trichinosis, clonorchiasis, opisthorchiasis, teniasis, neurocysticercosis (caused by cysticercus (larval form) of pork tapeworm), toxocariasis, giardiasis, strongyloidiasis.
Also, Aldazol is used for echinococcosis of the lungs, liver, peritoneum, provoked by the larval form of Echinococcus granulosus.
In addition, Aldazole may be prescribed in the presence of cutaneous larvae migrans.
Treatment with Aldazol does not require laxatives, adherence to a special diet, or the use of enemas.
Aldazol is used in adults and children over three years old. The drug is taken orally during meals, not chewed, washed down with water.
The dosage and treatment regimen with Aldazol depends on the type of disease. So, for ascariasis, ankylostomiasis, enterobiasis, necatorosis and trichinosis, Aldazol is used once in a dose of 400 mg (1 tablet). The course of therapy should be repeated after 3 weeks.
In the case of enterobiasis, it is recommended to simultaneously treat all persons living together.
For clonorchiasis and opisthorchiasis, Aldazol is used at a dosage of 400 mg 2 times / day for 3 days.
|Type of helminthiasis||Treatment regimen|

It is used with caution in the suppression of bone marrow hematopoiesis, liver failure, liver cirrhosis, cysticercosis with the involvement of the retina.
In case of neurocysticercosis with eye damage, an examination of the retina of the eye is necessary before starting treatment because of the risk of aggravating its pathology. With neurocysticercosis, appropriate therapy with glucocorticoid agents (to prevent a hypertensive attack in the first week of anticystic therapy) and anticonvulsants should be carried out.
During drug therapy, it is necessary to monitor the activity of hepatic transaminases at the beginning of each course of treatment; if the upper limit of the norm of enzyme activity is 2 times exceeded, the use of the drug must be suspended until they are completely normalized.
At the beginning of treatment and every 2 weeks of each 28-day cycle of drug use, it is necessary to control the number of leukocytes. With the development of severe leukopenia, it is necessary to discontinue drug therapy; treatment can be continued if the degree of decrease in the number of leukocytes is insignificant and leukopenia does not progress.
Patients receiving high doses of the drug should be closely monitored, with constant monitoring of blood and liver function.
This dosage form of the drug is not intended for use in children under 3 years of age. During the period of treatment, one should refrain from driving and performing work that requires increased attention and reaction speed.
If the symptoms of the disease do not begin to disappear, or, on the contrary, the health condition has deteriorated, or undesirable phenomena have appeared, consult your doctor for advice on further use of the drug.

Reviews about the drug "Aldazol"

With the use of Aldazole, you need to be very careful. All drugs against worms and all other parasites are toxic. If they eliminate these parasites, then be sure that they do not act very positively on the body either, especially on the liver. Before taking Aldazol, you should first drink the drug to protect the liver and after. Aldazole can cause stomach upset, it's not so bad yet. I read somewhere that Aldazol also had toxic hepatitis. So, be careful.

Aldazol helped us a lot to get rid of roundworms. For the summer, every year we send our little son to the village to visit his grandparents. He really likes it there, and even more so the fresh air, in general, very useful. And after arriving home, I once noticed these reptiles in the toilet after my son went to the toilet. At first I froze in place in horror, then just a stopper and not knowing what to do and where to run. After I regained consciousness, we went to the hospital. Naturally, they immediately took the "material" with them for analysis. And of course the tests showed exactly what I saw. There was no limit to my despair and frustration. I hadn’t met such a person before. The first child never had such a thing, but here you are, please.
The pediatrician, of course, calmed me down a little and said that Aldazol would quickly cure everything and there would be no problems. These words literally brought me to my senses and I calmed down. We immediately went to the pharmacy and bought it. Took 1 tablet 2 times a day for 3 weeks. After that, the pediatrician told us after 3 weeks to undergo Aldazole treatment again, so we did. After the treatment, we underwent tests 3 times and NOT a SINGLE PARASITIS. There was no limit to my happiness. And I want to say that Aldazole is cheap compared to other imported drugs.

Aldazol is complete bullshit. I took four courses of aldazol at an overestimated dosage (self-medication) and at least that. I do not advise anyone, an extra waste of money.
“Reviews of this drug are positive. Aldazole helped to get rid of ascariasis in a short time, without causing a single side effect. My family members also tolerated the drug well”.
“Despite the declared low toxicity of the drug, in my case there were side effects during treatment. Despite this, I am very happy with the result. To eliminate enterobiasis, it took only two tablets, which need to be taken at three-week intervals. After taking the pill, there was severe nausea, appetite disappeared, then migraine tormented all night. Fortunately, everything is behind us, the main thing is that the drug really works."

“An affordable and effective drug suitable for the whole family, including children. Pinworms and ascaris were expelled in just two steps. Strong ailments did not arise. Recommend".
